WILLIAM CHARLES SPICER age 60 of Casco Township died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in St. John River District Hospital in East China Township, MI after an extended illness. Mr. Spicer was born May 16, 1953 in Mount Clemens, MI to William and Dolores (Schultz) Spicer. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1971. He married Penny Ball in Romeo on March 2, 1982. Sgt. Spicer served with the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era. Bill was a control room operator for Consumer Power Company since 1977. He was a member of the VFW Post 6802 in Richmond, American Legion Post 382 in St. Clair and Utility Worker's Union Local 254. He was an avid reader of war history and enjoyed studying ancestry and genealogy. He enjoyed golfing. He is survived by his wife, Penny, Mother, Dolores Spicer of Richmond, step-children; Theresa (Darin) Snider of Holland and Richard (Mary Addis) Yaklin of Romeo, siblings; Robert (Laura) Spicer of St. Clair, Carrie Spicer of Richmond and Suzanne Hoornstra of Richmond, grandchildren; Jordan and Brandon Yaklin, and Gavin Snider, a soon to be great-grandson, one niece and two nephews. A funeral service will be on Saturday, June 29th at 10:00 am at the Richmond Cemetery under the auspices of the St. Clair Allied Veterans. Visiting will be Friday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. There will be a military service at 7pm.
