William R. Patton

WILLIAM RICHARD PATTON age 63, a lifelong resident of Richmond died Friday, April 22, 2011 in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. Mr. Patton was born March 19, 1948 in Mount Clemens to the late Walter and Sarah (Booth) Patton. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1966 and married Denice Schulz in Richmond on April 14, 1967. Bill worked as a tool grinder for thirty-six years and retired from Diamond Die in Clinton Township on December 31, 2010. He was a former coach for the varsity girls basketball and junior varsity boys basketball teams at Richmond High School and coached girls softball in Richmond for many years. He was a member of the Richmond Moose Lodge and enjoyed golfing and watching all of his grandchildrens sporting activities. He is survived by his wife, Denice, children, William (Annmarie) Patton of Macomb, Carrie (Chris) Sledz of Armada and Monica Patton of Richmond, grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler and Evan Sledz, Jacob, Olivia and Victoria Patton and Kendal and Drew Davis and siblings; Dorothy Blansit of AL., Patricia Taylor of MO, Janet Patton of MO., and Linda (David) Schlax of NV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Patton in 2005 and in-laws, Hans and Rita Schulz. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Gerhardt Doroh will officiate. Visiting will be Monday from 1 to 8pm and Tuesday from 9 to 10am . Memorial contributions may be directed to the St Jude Hospital.
