Wayne Joseph Ritter

Wayne Joseph Ritter, 76, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at McLaren Macomb Hospital. Wayne was born August 11, 1944 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late Sylvester and Tessa Ritter. Loving husband of Shelly Ottenbacher; cherished father of Heather Bisson (Robin Simpson), Heidi Bisson (Jeffrey Hole) and Jon (Shannon) Bisson; beloved grandfather of Lily, Sheldon, Christopher, Cru, and Luke. Also, survived by his nephew and business partner Duane Hagle, siblings, Tim, Eva, Sarah, Midge, Ann, Margie, and numerous other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Wayne loved spending time watching and attending NASCAR races. In addition to watching drivers turn left, Wayne also enjoyed trap shooting, reading and billiards at the VFW. For over forty years Wayne operated the Richmond Service Center where he and the staff not only repaired vehicles but also hosted the “board of directors” who would gather daily to shoot the shit and solve the world’s problems. A great friend to many, with a heart of gold, Wayne will be truly missed by so many in the community. He was one of Richmond’s greats who will be remembered for generations through the many wonderful stories that will continue to be shared.
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home. A time of sharing will be at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of sharing,Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.
