TWANA ROSE PINSKEY age 54 of Kimball Township died Saturday, September 21, 2013 in William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI after a brief battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Pinskey was born May 17, 1959 in Detroit to the late William and Connie (Profitt) Martis. She married David Pinskey in Richmond on July 17, 1976. Mr. Pinskey died September 9, 2001. Twana graduated from Richmond High School in 1976 and received and Associate Degree of Applied Arts and Science for Communication Media and Journalism. She worked as a nursing assistant at Medilodge in Richmond for eleven years. While attending St. Clair County Community College she served as editor and chief of the college newspaper, The Erie Square Gazette for two years as well as the photo and managing editor. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor society. In May of 2013 she earned a certification in Broadcast for television and radio. Twana enjoyed doing missionary work and participated in several missions in Honduras and Guatemala. She was a member of the Richmond Community Theater for over forty years and was a DNR Hunter Education Safety Instructor and an IBEP Certified bow instructor. She was a member of the New Covenant Church of God in Port Huron where she served on the Praise and Worship team and was a member of the North South Skirmish Association. She is survived by her children; David and Samantha Pinskey of Clinton Twp., Julie and Curtis McCaffrey of Washington Twp. and Sarah and Johnny Kramp of Clinton Twp., siblings, Rev. William and Martha Martis Jr. of Clarksville, TN., Rev. Howard Martis of Iron City, MI., Robert and Betty Martis of the Upper Peninsula, Rev and Al and Joyce Martis of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio and Theresa and Michael Giroux of Lincoln Park, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Michael and Brenda Pinskey of Richmond, Steven and Doreen Pinskey of Armada, Robert and Darlene Pinskey of Richmond, Ronald and Denise Pinskey of Richmond, Richard and Elizabeth Pinskey of Spring, Texas, and Susan and James Rodriguez of Cottrellville Twp, seven grandchildren and twenty-six nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law; Arthur and Patricia Pinskey. A funeral service will be on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Tony Bell, pastor of Heart of Worship Ministries in Appomattox, VA. will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Richmond. Visiting will be Wednesday from 3 to 8pm and Thursday from 9 to 10am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family for expenses.
