Terrance "Terry" Breese

TERRANCE JOHN BREESE age 61, a lifelong resident of Richmond died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Terry was born December 28, 1948 in Mount Clemens to the late Norwood and Irene (Elsholtz) Breese. He married Berta "Carmen" Teufel in Richmond on July 30, 1977. Terry graduated from Richmond (South Carlson ????) High School in 1966 and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in music from Wayne State University. As a young boy Terry was a member of the "Flashettes" baton team and worked in his family's owned "Breese's Meat Market". In 1972 he and his lifelong friend, Paul Huber founded, Huber-Breese Music in Fraser and in 1982 he founded, Southern Thumb Music in Richmond. Terry was a gifted music instructor and member of, Percussive Arts Society, Michigan Guild of Music, National Association of Music, Cross Cut Band and the Golden Rain Percussion Ensemble. He was a life member of the First United Church of Christ in Richmond and former council member and youth group leader. He enjoyed biking, walking, reading and going to their cottage in Lexington, but his ultimate love was his family and music. He is survived by his wife, Carmen, daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Christensen of Waterford, sisters, Norene and James Masiner of CO. and Joyce and William Batty of TX., granddaughters, Ashlee, Julie and Tia, lifelong friends and business partners, Paul and Judy Huber, God-children, Hans and Andrea and special niece and nephews, Tara, Derrick and Kevin. A funeral service will be Thursday, May 13th at 11:00am in the First United Church of Christ. Pastor Jennifer Long will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be Wednesday from 3 to 9pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Thursday from 10:30 to 11:00am in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be directed to Terry's favorite charities.
