Sylvia Agnes Shinska

Sylvia Agnes Shinska, 87, of Columbus, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, August 28, 2017. Sylvia was born February 27, 1930 to the late Edward and Clara Piper. Beloved wife of the late James Shinska; Caring mother of Cynthia (Jerry) Thorne, Christopher (Sharon) Shinska, Claire (Dan) Manchik, Connie (Ron) Schweiger, Carolyn (Chuck Springer) Eschenburg, Charles (Renee) Shinska, Cecilia (Michael) Duronio, John (Jennifer) Shinska; Adored grandmother of 23; Great grandmother of 13. Preceded in death by her brother Justin Piper and sister Theresa Gronkiewicz. Sylvia was an active member at Holy Family Parish as lector, Sacristan and catechism teacher. She was also a Prime Missionary member and a St. Phillip Neri Altar Society member. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, babysitting for her grandchildren and baking. Sylvia's legacy was service to her family, friends and church.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. She will lie in state on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 9:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish, 79780 Main St, Memphis, MI 48041.
