Susan H. Kuznia

SUSAN HILDA KUZNIA age 72 of Richmond Township died Thursday, October 8, 2015 in McLaren Macomb Hospital. Mrs. Kuznia was born November 30, 1942 in Detroit to the late Irvin and Helen (Redmer) Piper. She graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1960 and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree and Teaching Certificate from Wayne State University. She married Edward Kuznia in Detroit on April 30, 1965. Susan taught elementary school for a short time at Centerline and Lakeshore School Districts before starting her family. She was an active member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond serving in many capacities including the Bizarre and funeral luncheon. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, gardening and bird watching. She is survived by her husband Edward, children; Edward and Susan Kuznia of Swartz Creek, Laura and Marcus Young of Chesterfield and Nathan (Hannah Short) Kuznia of Fishers, IN, grandchildren; Goode, Irvin, Olivia, Maxwell, Myles and Sincere and her brother, Glen and Marilyn Piper of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel on May 21, 1993. A funeral service will be Monday, October 12, 2015 at 10:00am in St. Peter's Church with visiting starting at 9:30am. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond.
