Steven Andrew Porter

Steven Andrew Porter, 61, of Richmond, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Steven was born November 9, 1960 in Trenton, MI to the late Ronald and Prudence Porter. He graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1978 then married the love of his life, Bonnie Meyer on November 28, 1986 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Bonnie Porter; blessed daughters Emmalee and Cassandra Porter, cherished godchildren Jacob Emo and Michael and Matthew Hogberg, and lifelong friends of David and LuAnn Hogberg. Steven is also survived by nine siblings, many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Steve, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by both parents, Ronald and Prudence, and one brother Ronnie. Steven was an avid Michigan fan, took immense pride in his yard, loved to tinker with his 1946 Chevy pickup, and was happiest when spending time with family and friends especially, the family bulldog Kinsler. He could put a smile on anyone’s face with one of his corny jokes and memorable laugh. He always tried to make the best of any situation. Steve simply loved life.

Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. A Memorial Service will be officiated by Pastors Mark Haller and Gerhardt Doroh at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Service Monday, December 20, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 67055 Gratiot Ave., Richmond, MI 48062.
