Sophie Lobert

Sophie G. Lobert, 94 of Columbus Township died Thursday, March 15, 2007 in St. John River District Hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 26, 1912 in Calumet, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Victoria (Wolak) Henrykowski, She married Joseph Lobert on August 23, 1941 in St. Florian Church, Hamtramck. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and enjoyed baking, gardening, helping her daughter with the Bi-county Area Handicappers, and mostly spending time with her family. She is survived by her son Robert (Toni) Lobert of Sterling Heights, daughters Patricia "Patti" Lobert and Gloria (Gerald) Clapper both of Columbus Township, sister Esther Lancaster of Dearborn, grandchildren: Margaret Lobert, Patricia (Doug) Mozal, Gerald (Nicole) Clapper III, Joel (Crystal) Clapper, Roberta Lobert, and Josie Clapper, and great-grandchildren: Anna and Amanda Mozal, Ashley, Tiffani and Joseph Clapper, and Hailey and Holly Sophia Clapper. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on October 23, 1983 and sisters: Mary Hybl, Celia Lipka, Michaelene Lipka, Eleanor Bury, and Dolores Murray. A funeral Mass will be said Monday, March 19, 2007 at 10:30 in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Columbus Twp. Rev. Erwin Bauer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 3 to 9 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Monday from 10 to 10:30 in the church. A rosary service will be held Sunday at 7 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be directed to either the wishes of the family or masses.
