Sophia Moreton
February 15, 1933 — January 2, 2024
Sophia Moreton, of Sterling Heights, passed away January 2, 2024 at the age of 90 years. Sophia was born February 15, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of Paul and Tekla (Nowak) Kupczak. She was united in marriage to Earl Moreton on August 8, 1959 in Detroit. Together they raised their three children and made their home in Sterling Heights for many years. Earl passed away on November 11, 1998. Sophia was a homemaker and long-time member of St. Ephrem Church where she regularly participated in church functions. At home, she enjoyed working on arts and crafts projects. Sophia is survived by her children, Mark (Sue) Moreton, Eric (Lisa) Moreton and Kathleen (Tom) Dzielinski; and grandchildren, Rachael (David) Glowski, Jonathan Moreton, Nicholas Moreton, Erica Moreton, Andrew Dzielinski, Thomas Dzielinski and Jessica Dzielinski. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; and siblings, John Kupczak and Emily Clifton.
Visitation will take place 9:30 am Saturday, January 13, 2024 at St. Ephrem Church, 38900 Dodge Park, Sterling Heights, with a Mass following at 10 am. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
