Shirley Prevo

SHIRLEY MAY PREVO age 82 of Richmond died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Prevo was born July 30, 1927 in Royal Oak, Michigan to the late Alexander and Lily (Skett) Blainey. She married Miles Prevo in Peters, Michigan on October 5, 1955. Mr. Prevo died in 1990. Shirley owned and operated "Shirley's Snack Bar" in Richmond for several years and then worked in the meat department at Kroger's in Richmond for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1986. Shirley was a wonderful cook who loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, watching soap operas and taking pictures. She is survived by her sons, Alex and Nancy Kallom of Memphis, Joe Kallom of Richmond and Paul Kallom of Lenox, sisters, Joan Potter of Memphis and Vivian Caufield of Marine City, twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Tim Kallom in 1994 and siblings, Bob Blainey and Audrey Sturgis. A funeral service will be on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond. Reverend Alvin Titus will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be on Thursday from 4 to 8pm, Friday from 3 to 8pm and Saturday from 9 to 10am . Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
