Shirley Ann Maurin
August 9, 1948 — February 5, 2021
Shirley Maurin, 72, of Macomb, courageously fought the good fight --ultimately succumbing on February 5, 2021 with her loving husband and children at her side.
Shirley was born August 9, 1948 to the late Lawrence and Mae Rose Ottenbacher. Beloved wife of Michael Maurin, to whom she has been married for 50 years, and together for 54. Loving Mother of Kristy Calabrese-Bastick (Ryan) and Timothy Maurin. Cherished Grandmother of Christopher and Isabella, and step grandchildren Evan and Alex Bastick--all of whom affectionately called her "Zsa-Zsa". She was like a Mother/ Grandmother and dear friend to many who will deeply mourn her passing.
She is survived by her sister Rosemary Chartrand, Brother-in-law James Smith, Brother-in-law Fred (Claudia) Maurin, and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. She crosses over into the loving arms of her sisters Helen, Barbara, and Carol, all of whom passed within the last ten months, joining her other siblings Delores, Lawrence Jr., Marion, Infant Freddy, Charles, Infant Cindy, George, and Brother-in-law Thomas Chartrand.
Shirley worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for 29 years. Her hobbies included working in the yard with her Husband and going to Bingo with her Husband and friends. She enjoyed watching her Grandson Christopher play hockey, and her Granddaughter Isabella dance and play softball. She also enjoyed family vacations and spending time with those whom she loved.
Shirley had a heart full of love and cared deeply for her family and friends. She will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed.
Visitation Will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2021 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. with a visitation from 9:30 until the time of Mass, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St, Richmond, MI 48062.
