Ruth M. Stern

RUTH MARGARET STERN age 94 of Richmond, formerly of Casco Township passed on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10, 2015 in the Isabella Medical Care Facility in Mount Pleasant, MI. Ruth was born September 10, 1920 in Marysville, Michigan to the late Wesley and Elizabeth (Spicer) Swain. She married Desmond Stern in Richmond on September 11, 1943. Together they shared fifty years of marriage. Desmond passed in September of 1996. Ruth was a lifelong member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond and enjoyed traveling. In her earlier years Ruth worked at Chrysler Corporation. She is survived by her children; Brenda (Tom) Martin of Waterford, Dennis (Ellen) Stern of Richmond, Judy (Norman) Card of Richmond, Desmond "Bob" (Linnie) Stern of Mt. Pleasant, Richard "Buck" (Mary) Stern of Roseville, Ruth Ann (John) Stahl of North Branch and Martha (Terry) Ottenbacher of Huron, OH, nineteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 10:00am in St. Peter Lutheran Church. Reverend Mark Haller, pastor will officiate. Entombment will be in the Richmond Mausoleum. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church.
