Ruth (Nee Greenia) O'Donnell

RUTH IRENE O'DONNELL (nee Greenia), 84 of Romeo died unexpectedly Monday, December 4, 2006 in her home. Mrs. O'Donnell was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 10, 1922 to the late Clarence and Irene (DuRussel) Greenia. She married Robert O'Donnell in Richmond on November 23, 1943. Mr. O'Donnell died May 10, 1983. Ruth graduated in 1940 from St. Augustine Catholic High School in Richmond. She was a member of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo and a founding member of the Richmond Artist Association. She enjoyed interior decorating, gardening, golfing, scrapbooking, painting, and mostly spending time with her family. She was an avid euchre player and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the art and slang of the game. She is survived by her children Dennis and Barbara O'Donnell of Romeo, Michael and Anne O'Donnell of Columbus, Ellen O'Donnell of Chesterfield, Ann and Brooks Gardner of Burbank, CA, Margaret and Jerome Hasenjager of Troy, and Kathryn and Douglas Johnson of Romeo, siblings, Kenneth Greenia of St. Clair, Shirley Belczak of Shawnee, KS. and Jean Jaroszynski of Clay Twp., twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Robert she was preceded in death by a daughter Karen O'Donnell in 1946 and brothers Robert and Roy Greenia. A funeral Mass will be said Friday, December 8, 2006 at 9:30am in St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, Romeo. Fr. Steven Reckker will officiate. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Columbus Twp. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 9pm and Thursday from 3 to 9pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond, and Friday from 9 to 9:30am in the church. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm Thursday.
