ROBERT CHARLES SUTTON age 70, of Barton City, MI., formerly of Richmond died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw after a very brief illness. Mr. Sutton was born January 3, 1938 in Roseville, MI to the late Darrel and Olive (Hernden) Sutton. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1956 and married Barbara Hebel in Richmond on March 9, 1957. Bob served in the United States Air Force Reserves and was a former member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond. He and his wife owned and operated the Barton City General Store until 1983. At that time he started working at Venture Mold and Engineering in Clinton Township until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of the Barton City Fraternal Order of Eagles #4141, Mikado AmVets and the Greenbush Moose Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Barbara, children: Robert (Debi) Sutton of Knoxville, TN, Peggy (Randy) Houston of Columbus Twp., John (Cindy) Sutton of Richmond, Jeffrey (Karen) Sutton of Casco Twp., Timothy Sutton of St. Clair Shores and Tammy (Michael) McAbee of Fort Meade, MD, sister Janice (William) Rowley of Richmond, sister-in-law Marian Sutton of Armada, seventeen grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Wesley Sutton in 1976. A funeral service will be Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 10:00 am in St. Peters Lutheran Church, Richmond. Rev. Gerhardt Doroh and Rev. Randy Lett will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Saturday from 9:30 to 10am in the church. There will be a memorial service in Barton City at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wishes of the Family.
