Robert Stevens

Robert Stevens, 79 of Casco Township, died Friday, April 11, 2008 in his home after a lengthy illness. He was born June 12, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank and Theresa (Metz) Stevens. He graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1948 and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Stevens married Theresa Bickmann in St. Clement Church, Centerline on August 28, 1954. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1992 where he worked as a carpenter. He served as the Casco Township building inspector for over twenty years and enjoyed working on his house and yard and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Theresa; sons: Lawrence (Mary) Stevens of Memphis and Christopher, Joseph, and Daniel Stevens all of Casco; daughters: Nancy (William) Blumerich of Allenton, Patricia (David) Misiuk of Casco, Karen Stevens of Casco, Janet (Michael) Rhein of St. Clair Township, and Susan (Bryan) Pawlowski of Riley Twp.; brothers, Frank Stevens of Philadelphia, PA and James Stevens of Decatur, IL; sister Margaret Bickmann of Imlay City; and fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Richard, and Donald Stevens and sister Lois Baker. A funeral Mass will be said Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 10:30 am in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. Fr. Joseph Plawecki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 3 to 9 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond, and 10 to 10:30 Thursday in the church. A scripture service will be Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Augustine Building Fund, Disabled American Veterans, or the Hospices of Henry Ford.
