Robert L. Schuler

ROBERT LEWIS SCHULER age 79 of Cheboygan, Michigan, formerly of Richmond died Sunday, March 27, 2011 in his sister-in-law's home surrounded by his family. Mr. Schuler was born February 9, 1932 in Detroit to the late John and Caroline (Marendt) Schuler. On December 29, 1951 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond, Bob married Doris Riedel. Mrs. Schuler died June 25, 2006. Bob graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1950. He served as the Cheboygan County Building Inspector for over twenty years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Bob was a member of the Cheboygan Lions Club where he served in the capacity of all offices and also served on the Beaugrand Township Board. He held a Private Pilots license and enjoyed building and flying Radio Controlled airplanes. He was a member of the River Town Flying Club and enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He is survived by his sons; Robert (Susan) Schuler of Marble, Co. and John (Esther Lucia) of Naples FL., sisters-in-law; Ruth (Stanley) Bobula of Camphill, PA, Joyce (Harold) Dean of Imlay City and Donna (Roger) Gardella of Tavares, FL, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lori Ann on November 5, . A funeral service will be on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10:30am in St. Augustine Church. Reverend Joseph Plawecke, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
