Robert S. Lutz

Mr. Robert "Bob" S. Lutz, age 70, of Richmond died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at home with family by his side. He was born December 21, 1941 in Detroit to the late Otto and Hattie (Piechal) Lutz. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1959 and shortly after entered the U.S. Air Force. Robert married Sue Ellen Newell on December 9, 1961 in the United Methodist Church of Richmond. He retired from Pontiac Motors (GM)in 1998 after 35 years of service. Bob enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, fishing for walleye and hunting for morel mushrooms up north. He had a "green thumb" when it came to gardening and took pride in his yard. In his earlier years he was involved with the Richmond Girls Softball League as an umpire and coach. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Ellen; three children, Darrell Lutz and Todd Lutz, both of Richmond and Becky Lutz of Columbus; two grandchildren, Anthony Lutz and his mother, Veronica and Meaghan Lutz; a brother, Gordon (Sharon) Mantay of East China; two sisters, Marlane Potter of Columbus and Cheryl (Mike) Pelletier of Lake Orion and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. The Reverend Tom Keef of First United Methodist Church Richmond will officiate.
