Robert W. Harman passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Richmond, MI at the age of 76. Bob was born on October 20, 1945 to the late Eleanor Mae Malone. He enlisted in the Navy in 1963 and spent much of his time with the Marines as a Corpsman in Vietnam. After a medical discharge in 1968, Bob entered the metal parts industry as a lab technician, moving up to quality control manager over the years, and spent the final 20 years of his careerin the powdered metal industry as a salesman. He and Sue Shutes were married on December 5, 1969 in Detroit, MI and had two daughters: Deborah in September 1970 and Colleen in 1973. Bob enjoyed his work, which included a lot of travel, and took his family to live in Brazil for 6 months in 1975 and then four different states as their daughters were growing up. Bob loved fishing, camping, reading and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Susan Harman, daughters, Deborah Harman (Dave Wixson) and Colleen (Brent) Clark, granddaughter, Brooke Clark, brothers, JD Harman, Mark (Nanci) Farkas, Brad Farkas and Russell Farkas and sister, Jana Skill (Joe Nagy).
Per Bobs wishes, there will be no funeral or viewing, so of course, there will be no flowers. However, contributions to McLaren Hospice and Homecare foundation (McLaren.org/hospice) in his memory would be appreciated. The staff of this organization has been absolutely phenomenal throughout the past two and a half years by keeping Bob as comfortable as possible, as well as giving me all the support I needed to cope with the situation.
A Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date.
