Robert E. Caperton

ROBERT EUGENE CAPERTON age 63, a thirty year resident of Richmond died Monday, November 22, 2010 in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Caperton was born November 25, 1946 in Waynesboro, TN to the late Eugene and Grace (Hickerson) Caperton. He married Lana Ellis in Detroit on May 25, 1968. Bob worked as a machine repairman for Borg-Warner for seventeen years and then for Plason Scraping in Madison Heights. He was a long time coach for the Richmond Girls Softball, member of the HOH Motorcycle Club, French River Fishing club and the Richmond Moose Lodge. He enjoyed riding and working on his bikes, bowling, golfing and playing horseshoes. Bob is survived by his wife, Lana, children, Kevin and Gina Caperton of Richmond, Kara and Gary Willershausen of Harrison Township and Nicole and Kevin Clark of Columbus Township, his siblings, Tom and Elaine Caperton of Lawrenceburg, TN and Patsy and Roger Barrows of Dearborn, eight grandchildren, thirteen brothers and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, J.W. A funeral service will be on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Jill Zundel of Grace Methodist Church in New Baltimore will officiate. Visiting will be on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
