Rita Haslem, age 88, of Port Huron, formerly of Memphis died February 14, 2013, at home surrounded by family. She was born March 2, 1924 in Detroit to the late Frank and Anna Piontkowski. She married Leo Haslem on May 12, 1956 in St. Phillips Catholic Church. Rita drove school bus for Memphis Public Schools until her retirement. She then worked at Richmond True Value until it closed. Rita is survived by her daughter, Anne (Haslem) Collins of Port Huron; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Haslem) Morris of Davison, Daniel Haslem, Jonathan Collins, and Jadyn Collins of Port Huron, and a great grandson, Austin Morris of Davison. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and son, Mark. Visitation will be held Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 am Tuesday in Holy Family Parish in Memphis with viewing from 9 to 10 at the church. Father Joe Horn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Richmond. Memorials may be made to the family.
