Richard Carl Rix

Richard Carl Rix, 75, died peacefully in his home, April 1, 2016. A lifelong Richmond resident raised here by his mother Edna Rix and step father Pete Waters. Beloved husband of Carol Rix. Caring father of Edward (Sharon) Rix, Teresa (Larry) Clarkston, Stephanie Wells and Joseph (Gina) Rix. Special grandfather to Brandi, Torin, Austin, Heather, Amanda, Mark, Courtney, Adam and Nicole. Richard is also survived by his siblings Betty Green, Archie Rix, Jerry (Joyce) Rix, Donna Orrell, Marlene (Dave) Mullen, Kenneth Rix and Elroy (Kay) Rix. His in-laws Edgar (Lois), James (Simone), Thomas (Darlene) Stern and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Leroy (Barbara) Rix, Robert (Barbara) Rix, David Green, Margaret (James) Blakely, Daryl Ann Rix. Richard was a long time member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was an usher, elder and very involved in Stephen Ministries. He was an avid golfer, but loved sports in general especially the Lions and Tigers. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond 48062. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67055 Gratiot Ave., Richmond, MI 48062. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
