Richard Pietras

Richard S. Pietras, age 75, of Richmond died in his home May 8, 2007. He was born May 12, 1931 in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late Steve and Genevieve (Jaworowski) Pietras. He married Dorothy Babinski in St. Florian Church, Hamtramck, on November 27, 1952. Mr. Pietras served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne. He was a wholesale meat distributor, and with his wife owned the Richmond Delicatessen from 1974 to 1979. Mr. Pietras was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond Knights of Columbus and various Richmond senior organizations. He enjoyed flying, working, and mostly spending time with and helping his family. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughters Claudia Pietras of New Baltimore, Donna (Jim) Wells of New Baltimore, son Chris (Debbie) Pietras of Washington Twp., sister Geraldine Badaczewski of Croswell, and grandchildren: Amy Orlando, Christopher Pietras, and Claire, Lucas and Veronica Wells. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. A rosary service will be said before the Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Memorial donations may be directed to the Hospices of Henry Ford, American Cancer Society, or the St. Augustine Catholic Church building fund.
