Raymond W. Wilson Sr., 76 of Richmond, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in his home after an extended illness. He was born March 21, 1933 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Hansel and Mabel Wilson. Mr. Wilson married Angeline Sardo in Detroit on October 23, 1954. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After a long career as a meat cutter he retired from Oak Ridge Markets. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife Angeline, mother Mabel Mayfield, son, Raymond Jr. (Michele) Wilson, daughters, Christina (Daniel) Sims and Josephine (Noel) Lemon, brother DeWayne Mayfield, sister Gail Spinks, grandchildren: Craig Oswald, Christina, Daniella, and Janell Sims, Ethan McConnel, Antonio Wilson, and Rachel and Matthew LaDue, and great-granddaughter Jordan Oswald. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Wilson on August 22, 1980. A funeral service will be Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Rev. James Holder, pastor of New Hope Full Gospel Church in New Baltimore will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Angeline Wilson.
