Peter N. Engardio

PETER NOVARA ENGARDIO age 94 of Richmond died Wednesday, May 31, 2012 in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Engardio was born December 23, 1917 in Williamston, Mi. to the late Sam and Mary (Novara) Engardio. He married Lottie Stadnik in Hamtramck on April 16, 1955. Mrs. Engardio died August 4, 2010. Pete graduated from Williamston High School in 1935 and earned his engineering degree from G.M.I. in Flint and attended Catholic University in Washington DC. He was a long time member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and owner of the former Dairy Chick and Engardio Real Estate in Richmond. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and enjoyed gardening, reading, woodworking and surfing the internet. He is survived by his children; Larry (Ann) Engardio of Raven, VA., Janice (John) Boyd of Orchard Lake, Pete (Rose) Engardio of Brooklyn, NY, Jim (Diane) Engardio of Clinton Twp, Perry (Rozanne Stevens) Engardio of Eastpointe, Theresa (Richard) Orzel of Richmond, Gerald (Leticia) Engardio of Naperville, IL, and Mary Ann (Darren) Shaffer of Clyde Twp., 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and siblings; Andy Engardio of Adrain and Frank Engardio of CA. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Pasquale, John and Leonard Engardio and Kay Sedick. A funeral service will be on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:30am in St. Augustine Church. Reverend Dino Vanin, P.I.M.E. will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting will be Friday from 4 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Saturday from 10 to 10:30am in the church. A Rosary service will be Friday at 7pm.
