Paul F. Urben Jr.

PAUL FRANCIS URBEN JR. age 88 of Chesterfield Township died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Gates Adult Foster Care Home in Kimball Township. Mr. Urben was born September 10, 1925 in Charlevoix, MI to the late Paul and Mary (Gross) Urben. He married Patricia Keller in Detroit on September 27, 1952. Mrs. Urben died September 8, 1978. He Married Marge Wingert in Florida in February of 2005. She died in July of 2012. Paul graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1943, from the University of Detroit with top honors in 1950 and served his country with the United States Air Force. He was a mechanical engineer at the General Motors Tech Center in Warren for thirty-five years retiring in 1988. He also taught descriptive geometry at Macomb County Community College for eighteen years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Anne Council in Warren and enjoyed golfing. He is survived by his children: Cathy (Chris) Staniek of Harrison Twp, Paul (Patricia) Urben of Marysville, Theresa (Edward) Nardozzi of Columbia, TN, Mark (Daria) Urben of Chesterfield, Carol (David) Kasper of Ortonville and Charles Urben of Troy, siblings; Patricia (Stanley) Wright of Livonia, Mary Joyce (Larry) Chounard of Seminole, FL and Joan (John) Bing of MD, nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his wives he was preceded in death by his siblings; Regina Todora and William and Ronald Urben. Cremation arrangements were handled by Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending.
