PAUL JOHN KOLEDA 85 of Richmond died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in Port Huron Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Koleda was born February 21, 1924 in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late Paul and Helen (Jesonowski) Koleda. He married Dolores Woynar in Detroit on July 14, 1945. Paul served in the United States Army during World War II and was a decorated war hero earning an European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with Three Bronze Battle Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart and a Bronze Arrowhead Star. He was a self employed painter and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, K of C Council #2667 in Richmond and enjoyed woodworking and drawing. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, sons, Paul and Norma of DeWitt, David and Linda of Metamora, Daniel and Carolyn of Shelby Township and Kenneth and Nyoka of Fenton, daughters, Carolyn and Keith Cardwell of Kalamazoo, Janet and Robert Pulver of Punta Gorda, Fla. and Nancy and Kevin Borgacz of Avoca, his sister, Virginia Torina of St. Clair Shores, thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a his sister, Anna Koleda. A funeral Mass will be on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00am in St. Augustine Catholic Church. Reverend Joseph Plaweck, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Richmond. Visiting will be Friday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Saturday from 9:30 to 10am in the church.
