OLIVE A. SUTTON 90 a longtime resident of Columbus Township died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in Medilodge of Richmond after a brief illness. Mrs. Sutton was born July 27, 1917 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late George and Hazel (McClollum) Hernden. She married Darrel Sutton in Mount Clemens, Michigan on February 9, 1935. Mr. Sutton died April 13, 1985. Olive was a member of the Columbus Bible Church in Columbus, Township and the Porrette Mother's Club. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting, reading and trying every craft possible. She was also a member of the Richmond chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Olive was very proud that she received her GED from Richmond High School in 1987. She is survived by her children, Janice and William Rowley of Richmond and Robert and Barbara Sutton of Barton City, daughter-in-law, Marian Sutton of Armada, siblings, Mervin Hernden of Clinton Township and Irene Graham of Eastpointe, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and a soon to be great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Wesley Sutton in 1976 and siblings, Thomas, Harley, Charles and Henry Hernden, Mable Bird, Freda Carol and Alma Hudolin. A funeral service was Friday, September 20th in the Columbus Bible Church. Reverend Woodrow Nelson officiated. Cremation followed service. Visiting and an Eastern Star service was held in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Contributions were directed to the wishes of the family or the Columbus Bible Church.
