NORMAN ‘BO' BOBCEAN 85 a lifelong area resident died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Bobcean was born February 1, 1923 in Ray Township, Michigan to the late Elmer and Helen (Alvernia) Bobcean. He married Mary Kennedy in Richmond on December 27, 1951. She died on April 28, 1994. He married Marian Berger in Richmond on November 25, 1994. Bo retired from the Macomb County Sheriff Department in 1985. Prior to that he served on the Richmond City Police Department. He was a former football and baseball coach at St. Augustine High School for many years and driver's training teacher. He was a member of the F.O.P and former member of the Richmond Lions Club and V.F.W. auxiliary. Bo loved to play cards, garden, bowl and watch sports of any kind. He is survived by his wife, Marian, children, Harold (Cathy) Rhein of Wales, Joseph (Kathi) Wojtkiewicz of Memphis, Kevin (Roxanne) Wojtkiewicz of Richmond, Edward (Sue) Wojtkiewicz of Clinton Twp., Rebecca (Christopher Lynch) Wojtkiewicz of Riley, Mary Beth (Ernie) Kurschot of Oxford and Tom O'Grady of Florida, a sister, Gladys (Ted) Schmidt of Richmond, fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Mary he was preceded in death by siblings, Evelyn Stroshein, Doris Gibbs and Harold and Melvin Bobcean. A funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:00 in Holy Family Parish in Memphis. Reverend Joseph Horn will officiate. Visiting will be on Friday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Saturday from 9:30 to 10am in the church.
