Norene Kaatz

NORENE LOUISE AUGUSTA KAATZ age 95 a lifelong resident of Lenox Township died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Kaatz was born April 23, 1915 in Macomb County, Michigan to the late Herman and Louise (Bauer) Hagen. She married Frederick Kaatz in Richmond on April 7, 1934. Mr. Kaatz died April 9, 1987. Norene was a lifelong member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond and served various positions with the Ladies Aide. She was a former 4H leader and enjoyed gardening, canning and making butter. She loved spending time and doing projects with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting residents at Medilodge with her little dog, Minnie Mouse. She is survived by her children, Stanley Kaatz of Lenox Twp., Dale and Cindy Kaatz of Brown City, Ronald and Edna Kaatz of Armada, Bruce Kaatz of Almont, Lynette and Rusty Carlson of Chicago, IL., Lorene and Steve Randall of Richmond and Marintha and Duke Huffman of Circleville, Ohio, twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Walter, Lorenz, Frances and Tina Hagen, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Reverends Gerhardt Doroh and Randy Lett will officiate. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be on Thursday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Friday from 10:30 to 11am in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
