Nina Jeanette Potts

NINA JEANETTE POTTS age 88 of Richmond died Monday, January 9, 2012 in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Potts was born February 8, 1923 in Richmond to the late Frederick and Nina Weeks. She married Joseph Potts in Richmond on October 12, 1946. Mr. Potts died November 21, 1976. Nina graduated from Richmond High School in 1941 and earned the distinct honor of achieving the status of Valedictorian. Throughout her school years she also won several medals for winning spelling bees. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Richmond and enjoyed watching tennis, playing scrabble and watching television. Before her health declined Nina enjoyed playing tennis. She is survived by her sons; Kenneth Potts of Modesto, CA. and Gary and Eva Potts of Danville, CA. and her granddaughter; Stefanie and Dale Miller of Yorba Linda, CA. and many nieces and nephews who knew her by "Aunt Jeanette". In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings; Frederick, Robert, and David Weeks and Elaine Weinert. A funeral service will be 10:00am Friday, January 13, 2012 in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond. Reverend Jennifer Long, pastor of the First United
