Neil S. O'Hagan

NEIL SHAPLAND O'HAGAN age 87 of Richmond died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Ferguson Convalescent Home in Lapeer after an extended illness. Mr. O'Hagan was born June 16, 1925 in Detroit to the late Neil and Hazel (Shapland) O'Hagan. He graduated from Northern High School in Detroit. He married Evelyn Balhorn Williams in Redford, MI on October 20, 1973. Mrs. O'Hagan died January 3, 2004. Neil served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a past president of the Detroit West Town Lions Club. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in New Baltimore. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Sandra and Lee Western of Attica, grandchildren; Ryan (Joanna) Jennens of Eaton Rapids, Tara Jennens of Ypsilanti, Joseph Western and Michelle Western both of St. Louis, MO and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-children; Diana Scheible of Wales Twp., Dennis Kleinhans of Richmond, Kirk (Nancy) Wlliams of Kimball and several step-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his daughter; Janice Jennens in May of 1983, his sisters; Phyllis Hanks and Hazel Boyle. A service will be on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 11:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond. Reverend Barry Mueller, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in New Baltimore will officiate. Visiting will be on Monday from 10 to 11am. Memorial contributions may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church, New Baltimore.
