NATALIE ANN HUGO age 50 of North Street, MI. formerly of Richmond died Friday, January 6, 2012 in Grand Marais, MI. as the result of a snowmobile accident. Natalie was born October 29, 1961 in Mount Clemens Michigan to John and Sherle (Trombly) Oprita. She married Douglas Hugo in New Baltimore on December 11, 1981. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1979 and earned her associate and R.D.H. degrees from Oakland Community College in 1985. She worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. James Batuk, DDS in Marysville. Natalie was an active member of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church in Port Huron where she served with the Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed horseback riding, snowmobiling and riding with her husband on their Harley. She was a dedicated helper at the soup kitchen in Port Huron. She is survived by her husband, Douglas, parents; John and Sherle Oprita of Port Huron, mother-in-law; Fran Hugo of St. Clair, siblings; Nicole and Matt Phillipoff of Atlanta, GA. and Nathan and Jaime Oprita of Fort Gratiot, brothers-in-law; Dale and Gigi Hugo of Lenox and Dennis and Meg Hugo of Hulbert and several nieces and nephews, many of whom she was a loving Godmother to. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law; Lloyd Hugo on November 3, 1985. A funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, January 11th at 10:00am in St. Stephen Catholic Church in Port Huron. Reverend Brian Cokonougher, pastor will officiate. Visiting will be Monday and Tuesday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested for the St. Clair County Humane Society, Blue Water Community Food Depot or St. Stephen's Christian services.
