Michael John O'Donnell

MICHAEL JOHN O'DONNELL, age 63, of Romeo, formerly of Richmond died unexpectedly Monday, November 19, 2012. He was born September 10, 1949 in Mt. Clemens to the late Robert and Ruth (Greenia) O'Donnell. Michael graduated in 1967 from St. Augustine Catholic High School in Richmond. He continued his education at M.S.U. and Central Michigan University receiving his Business of Administration Degree. He married Anne Taylor July 28, 1973 in Pigeon, Michigan. Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His good nature was evident when he played Santa for groups of under privileged children. He and his son, Kevin, worked side by side with their construction and custom cabinetry business. Mike loved the outdoors, wilderness camping, hunting and fly fishing. He played the Blues on his Dobro guitar to the enjoyment of many. He loved a fine cigar with a glass of scotch and good natured debates with his family and friends. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Anne; two children, Kevin (Jessica) O'Donnell and their children, Morgan and Benjamin of Romeo and Molly (Daniel) Hulett and their children, Lucy and Jack of Washington Twp; a brother, Dennis (Barbara) O'Donnell of Romeo; four sisters, Ellen O' Donnell of New Baltimore, Ann (Guy Brooks) Gardener of Burbank, California, Margaret (Jerry) Hasenjager of Troy and Kathryn (Douglas) Johnson of Romeo and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Karen. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:00am in St. Clements of Rome Catholic Church, Romeo. Pastor Stephen Reckker will officiate. Visitation will be held 3-8 p.m. Friday in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
