Michael Allen Mclellan

Michael Allen McLellan, age 64, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Marysville. Michigan passed away unexpectedly at home on July 13, 2012. Mike was born September 30, 1947 in Port Huron, MI to Richard G and Doris O McLellan. He graduated from Marysville High School before attending and graduating with a BA in Business Management from Northwood University where he also played National Championship Tennis. In 1968 Mike married Patricia Sterling with whom he shared one son, John Michael McLellan. In 1988 Mike met and married Suzy LaMay with step-son, Kyle. Mike was a lifelong sports fan enjoying most college and professional sports as well as being an NASCAR junky. He was an avid recreational boater and was the Past Commodore of The Shores Boat Club in St Clair Shores, Michigan. Mike spent many summer days cruising the Great Lakes with his family and friends. He had a lifelong obsession and profession as a marine retailer and professional yacht broker. Early in his career Mike managed two Marine dealerships for his father and later was employed by many Michigan and Detroit area marine dealerships. His longest tenure being at Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales, St Clair Shores Michigan. He was most recently employed by Berry- Boger Yacht Sales in North Myrtle Beach SC.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Richard G McLellan in1995. He is survived by son, John Michael of Marysville; mother, Doris O and sister, Sue Ann Kelly of Newport OR; brothers, Richard G (Virginia) McLellan of Port Huron MI, and Brian McLellan of Muskegon MI. along with several nieces and nephews and 1st wife, Patricia McLellan, 2nd wife Suzy LaMay and step son, Kyle LaMay. Mike will be sorrowfully missed by a boat load of faithful clients and boating friends he met along the way.
A Memorial service for family and friends will be Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. at Quay Street Brewing Co., 330 Quay Street, Port Huron.
