Melissa Elsie Dempsey

Melissa Elsie Dempsey (nee) Ladd, 87, of Lenox Twp., passed away at Troy Beaumont Hospital Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Melissa was born May 13, 1933 to the late Lowell and Leona Ladd. Loving wife of Thomas Dempsey; cherished mother of Thomas (Debra) Dempsey, Donna Jones, Valerie Dempsey and Linda (William) Pistorio; caring grandmother of Shane, Justin, Melissa Grace, Heather (Mark), Derek (Annette), Brad, Candace (Mario), Melissa Marie (Mark), Gina, Cherie (Chris), Daniel (Hannah), Dustin and Brandon; great grandmother of 20. Also, survived by her siblings, Albert Ladd and Leona King. Preceded in death by her daughter, Anne Parwey and son-in-law, Thomas Jones.
Melissa was very detail orientated and loved to make miniature room boxes. She enjoyed exercising at the senior center, crocheting infant blankets for the church, reading in her book club and gardening.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass Saturday, June 13, 2020 at St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, 24040 Armada Ridge Rd, Armada, MI 48005.
Memorial donations may be made to "Wishes of the Family".
Mask's and social distancing will be observed.
