Mary E. Samolej

MARY ELLEN SAMOLEJ age 68, a lifelong resident of Richmond died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens. Mary was born September 9, 1945 in Mount Clemens to the late Arthur and Therese (Felstow) Weinert. She married Mitchell Samolej in Richmond on November 18, 1967. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1963. This past August Mary retired from Macomb Medical Associates in Richmond after working ten years. Prior to that she worked in the claims department for AAA in Mount Clemens for thirty years. Mary enjoyed watching her grandchildren play their sporting events. She was an avid bowler and camper but most recently was addicted to Facebook. She is survived by her husband, Mitchell, children; Gary Samolej of St. Clair Shores, Jeffrey and Krystal Samolej of Riley, former daughter-in-law; Jamie Samolej of Harrison Township, grandchildren; Ashley and Emily Samolej, Alyssa Chambers and Nicholas and Olivia Samolej and siblings; Dean and Bernice Weinert of Richmond, James and Betty Weinert of Romeo, Janice Franz of CA . Diane and Leonard Dolan of Richmond and Philip and Elizabeth Weinert of Richmond. A funeral service will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Gerhardt Doroh will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
