Mary E. Maes

MARY EMILY MAES 93 of Richmond died Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Lake Pointe Villa Senior Home in Clinton Township. Mrs. Maes was born December 26, 1921 in Detroit to the late Julius and Olivia (Kranz) Wancour. She married Camiel Maes in Roseville, MI on January 20, 1945. Mr. Maes died in 1979. Mary was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and worked at several different bakeries and restaurants in Richmond. She is survived by her children; Norman (Sally) Maes of Columbus Township, Marvin (Jannette) Maes of Old Hickory, TN, Roger (Deborah) Maes of Genesso, IL and Charlene VanMeter of Harrison Township, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian VanMeter in 1988, siblings; Leo Wancour and Agnes Brinkman and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Maes in 1984. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00am in St. Augustine Church. Reverend Phil Ching, associate pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting will be on Tuesday, December 6th from 3 to 8:00pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:00am in the church. Memorial contributions are suggested for the wishes of the family.
