Mary M. Gardner

MARY MARGARET GARDNER age 80 of Lenox Township, formerly of Romeo and Washington died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Gardner was born June 28, 1930 in Kingsville, Ontario, Canada to the late Steve and Mary (O'Grady) Cull. She married Clarence Gardner in Kingsville on May 1, 1948. Mr. Gardner died February 7, 2005. Mary was raised in the Catholic faith and enjoyed playing bingo, being outdoors, traveling and being with her family. She is survived by her children, Gregory (Sandra) Gardner of Lenox, William (Jill) Gardner of Armada, Maureen (Jim Brown) VerBruggen of Roscommon and Mary Ann (Bruce) McLeod of Warren, daughters-in-law, Cathy Gardner of East Pointe and Joanne Smith of Brownstone, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sons, Harry Gardner in 1989, Christopher Gardner in 1996 and John Gardner in 2005 and siblings, Steve Cull and Nora Gale. A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 12 noon in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Brother, James Gale of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Tilbury, Ontario will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
