Martin Okalski

MARTIN E. OKALSKI age 79, a lifelong resident of Lenox Township died Sunday, November 30, 2008 in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Okalski was born August 27, 1929 in Hamtramck, MI. to the late Stephan and Catherine (Wisnieski) Okalski. He married Joyce Daunt in Richmond on February 27, 1954. Martin retired as a pipe fitter from Ford Motor Company Paint Plant in Mount Clemens in 1989. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and the Richmond Moose Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, plumbing, playing cards with his brother-in-law and going to the casino. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, daughters, Denise Brown of Lenox Twp. and Tricia McPherson of Richmond, sisters, Margaret (Norman) Martin of Lenox Twp. and Barbara (Philip) Schoenherr of Seattle, WA. and granddaughters, Tacha Brown and Lindsey and Cecily McPherson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel and Harry Okalski. A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Joseph Plawecki will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 8pm and Wednesday from 9 to 10am in the funeral home. A scripture service will be Tuesday at 6:30pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association.
