Marion L. Emmi

MARION LUCINDA EMMI age 85 of Columbus Township died September 18, 2013 in her home. Mrs. Emmi was born April 5, 1928 in Detroit to the late Oliver and Sylvia (Bandlow) Lanstra. She married Frank Emmi in Detroit on May 19, 1950. Mr. Emmi died November 22, 2005. Marion was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and participated with the Altar Sodality. She was an active leader of the Girl Scouts of America for fifteen years and enjoyed sewing and quilting. For twenty-three years Marion did fund raising, amounting to more than $25,000.00 for St. Jude Hospital where she was honored there for her efforts. She is survived by her children; David (Candace) of Columbus, and Paul (Janis) Emmi of Columbus, Patricia (Ronald) Boyce of Columbus and Sharon Iovinell of Elmhurst, IL., daughter-in-law; Gina Emmi of Richmond, brother; Allen (Nadine) Lanstra of Grand Blanc, thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Emmi on December 30, 2000. A funeral service will be Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:00am in St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting will be Sunday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond, and Monday from 9:30 to 10am in the church. A scripture rosary will be Sunday at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Jude Hospital.
