Marion Beck

MARION IRMA BECK age 87 of Armada, formerly of Fraser went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 2, 2009 in her home. Mrs. Beck was born August 3, 1922 in Detroit to the late George and Martha (Knorr) Scharf. She married Edgar Beck in Concordia Lutheran Church in Detroit on June 16, 1945. Mr. Beck died May 9, 1998. Marion was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond and former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ray Township, St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eastpointe and St. John Lutheran Church in Fraser. She did extensive volunteer work at her churches and in the gift shop at the former St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township. She enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Richard Turgeon of Armada, sister Ruth (Thomas) Marklewitz, grandchildren, Scott (Michele) Turgeon, Jill (Christopher) Wald, Jason (April) Turgeon and Stacy Turgeon and great-grandchildren, Emma, Morgan, Zackery, Ethan, Nathan, Isabelle and Lacey Turgeon and Jackson and Claire Wald. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sister Romelda Paetsch in 1981. A funeral service will be on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:00am in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Richmond. Reverends Gerhardt Doroh and Randy Lett will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Eastpointe. Visiting will be Wednesday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Thursday from 10:30 to 11:00 am in the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Richmond.
