Marie Alta Rund, 95, of Richmond, passed away peacefully at Medilodge of Richmond Sunday, March 11, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Rund; caring mother of Marlene (Russell) Stenzel and Lorelei (Tim) Rix. Grandmother of Rachael (Jeff) Churchill, Jennifer (Dan) Hill, Stephanie (Christopher) Weiss, Matthew (Alicia) Rix, Amanda (Ethan) Grove, David (Dawn) Stenzel and Cory (Kelly) Stenzel. Great grandmother of Lila and Aaron Weiss, David Stenzel Jr., Taylor, Garrett, Jackson and Carter Stenzel, Chase, Cole and Caden Churchill, Ella, Jacob, Olivia and Ava Hill, Nathan and Brayden Rix. Also, survived by her special cousin Ronald Gruninger, sister-in-law Patricia Ruprecht, 3 nieces, 1 nephew and godson Paul Hagedorn. Preceded in death by her parents John and Amanda Tuckey and brother Wallace Ruprecht. Marie was born in Detroit on November 7, 1922 and graduated from Eastern High School in 1940. She married Nicholas, the love of her life, in 1945 and they moved to Richmond in 1958. Marie was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, playing cards with her friends and babysitting children, who also called her Gram. She served as a volunteer for the Red Cross, as a Pink Lady for River District Hospital and for the Richmond Good Old Days information desk. She also used her talents to decorate bulletin boards for the Richmond Middle School Library.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 35110 Division Rd, Richmond, MI 48062.
