Marcel F. Pierik

MARCEL FRANCIS PIERIK, 45 of Richmond died Sunday, August 23, 2009 in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Pierik was born July 13, 1964 in Detroit to Henricus and Alida (Timmer) Pierik. He married Nicole St. Amour in Dearborn on August 28, 1993. Marcel graduated from South Lake High in St. Clair Shores in 1982 and served in the United States Army for 6 ½ years. He worked as an engineer at Continental Plastics in Fraser, Michigan. Marcel attended Fellowship Baptist Church in East China Twp. and enjoyed golfing, bowling, skiing and camping with his family. He is survived by his wife, Nicole, children, Bailey, age 11, and John "Jack" age 8, His mother, Alida Pierik of Richmond, siblings, David (Cindy) of Warren, Steven (Susanne) of St. Clair, Vincent (Janine) of Armada, Christopher (Linda) of Chesterfield, Scott (Christine) Garretson of Lake Orion and Stephany McBride of St. Clair Shores, Father and Mother-in-law, Paul W. and Margaret St. Amour of Cheboygan, brother-in-law, Jean (Kim) St. Amour of Ortonville and nieces and nephews, Meggan, Jacklynn, Vinnie, Matthew, Jon, Janelle, Mitchell, Tyler, Elayna, Dylan and Nick. He was preceded in death by his father, Henricus Pierik in 1983. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend William Blount, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery in Armada. Visiting will be Tuesday form 4 to 8pm, Wednesday from 3 to 8pm and Thursday from 9 to 10am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.
