LUCY MAY POLLARD age 87 of Chesterfield Twp, MI. formerly of Northville went to be with her husband and children, Kurt, Mikie and baby Lori and all who went before her on Tuesday, January 13, 2014. Lucy was born January 30, 1926 in Detroit to the late Albert and Ellen (Pope) Abdey. She graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit in 1943 and married Kenneth Pollard in Detroit on May 31, 1947. Mrs. Pollard was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and participating in endless and hilarious pranks with her children. She is survived by her children; Cheryl (Duwaun )Daniel of Chesterfield, Dawn (Bob Fieber) of Danville, CA and Mark (Louise) Pollard of Mt. Horse, CA, daughter - in-law, Helen Pollard of Fairfield, CA, siblings; Grace Plankar of Redford, Mary Dowell of DelRay Beach, FL, Elsie (Donald) Ashbek of Keego Harbor, Evelyn (Donald) Touroo of Roscommon, Florence Mink of VA, Dorothy Wright of Taylor and Danny (Carol) Adbey of Novi, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her children; Kurt in 2009 and young children; Mikie and Lori Pollard and granddaughter, Sarah Courtney in 1980. A celebration of her life will be on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:30am in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond. Reverend Melvin Gower, pastor of Lighthouse Outreach Center in Eastpointe will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia. Visitation will be on Friday, January 17th from 3 to 8pm and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30am. In lieu of flowers Lucy would be touched by a donation to the Hemophilia Foundation of Northern California, (6400 Hollis St. Suite 6, Emeryville, CA 94608-1052 or go to hemofoundation.org) that had such an impact on her family.
