Lucille Priestap

LUCILLE MARIE PRIESTAP 98 a lifelong resident of Richmond died Monday, November 12, 2007 in Summerville of Brighton Assisted Living Home. Mrs. Priestap was born September 2, 1909 in Lenox, Michigan to the late William and Alvina (Mandville) Beauvais. She married E. Buel Priestap in Detroit in February of 1932. Mr. Priestap died in October of 1978. Lucille graduated from Nazareth Academy in Kalamazoo and St. Joseph School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and served with the altar sodality. She was also a member of the Diversity Club of Richmond, Red Hat Society and the Lioness Club. She enjoyed traveling, cake decorating, knitting and working in her yard, but mostly spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Gary and Deborah Priestap of Milford, Barbara and John McKiernan of Richmond and Mary and John Riedel of Mansfield, Ohio, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Edward "Bill" Priestap in 1949 and siblings, Wallace, Cordelia and Austin Beauvais, Vera Boggs and Pat Heath. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10:30am in St. Augustine Church. Reverend Dennis Nowinski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday from 3 to 8pm in the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to Richmond Catholic Education Foundation for St. Augustine School.
