LOUIS J. SCHWEIGER, 91, a lifelong resident of Richmond died Saturday, December 23, 2006 in his home. Mr. Schweiger was born January 22, 1915 in Detroit to the late Jacob and Ida (Rosenburg) Schweiger. He married Emily Olewnicki in Richmond on July 7, 1945. Louie graduated from Richmond High School in 1933 and went to work as a meat cutter at the St. Clair-Macomb Co-op in Richmond. As the business expanded he changed positions to a welder and steel fabricator until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church Usher's Club and Fourth Degree Color Guard of the Richmond K of C Council #2667 where he served on the Building Committee for many years. He was an avid Red Wing fan and he and his wife enjoyed camping and polka and square dancing. Over the years he made over 700 "Sequence" games that have been sent world wide. He is survived by his wife, Emily, children, David and Ann Schweiger of Clinton Township and Kaye and Phillip Bryan of New Baltimore, brothers, Stanley (Edith) of Richmond, Norman (Phyllis) of Eastpointe and sister, Rita Schweiger of Richmond, grandchildren, Maria (Jeff) White, Kathryn (Steve) Reaume, and Elizabeth, Mary and Paul Schweiger. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sister Mary Ida (Gertrude Schweiger). A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, December 28th at 10:30am in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. Reverend Joseph Plawecki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery
