Louis G. Reed

LOUIS GEORGE REED age 74 of Columbus Township died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens, MI. after an extended illness. Mr. Reed was born October 22, 1940 in Detroit to George and Helen (Drouillard) Reed. He married Janice (Hurttgam) Weinert in Richmond on February 14, 1981. Janice died on May 12, 2013. Lou retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Phoenix Contracting Company. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp, member of the Richmond Moose Lodge, the James Coleman VFW Post in Richmond and enjoyed camping. He is survived by his children; Paul Reed of Harrison Township, Margaret Larson of Clinton Township and Bradley Reed of Atlanta, GA, step-children; William Weinert of Goodells, Terri Bolla of St. Clair and Jackie Achatz of Warren, his grandson, Ryan Larson, six step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and his sisters; Janet Lang of Port Huron and Margaret Krueger of Taylor. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Josaitis, son-in-law, Chris Achatz and grandson, Frank Achatz. A funeral service under the auspices of the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance will be on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3:45pm in the Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond with visiting starting at 1:00pm.
