Louis E. Jacobs

LOUIS EUGENE JACOBS age 92 of Ray Township, Michigan died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in his home after and extended illness. Mr. Jacobs was born June 9, 1920 in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Clarence and Elsie (Bennett) Jacobs. He attended New Haven High School and married Theresa Loeffler on April 11, 1942 In New Haven. Mrs. Jacobs died on March 4, 2006. Mr. Jacobs served with the United States Army during World War II and worked many years in the manufacturing industry. He was very instrumental in the development of the steel roll business. After retirement in the public sector, Louis started his own business as a welder and small equipment repair. He enjoyed building several houses and tinkering with tractors. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Marianne Jacobs of Clinton Township and daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Gary Hagen of Presque Isle, MI., grandchildren; Melinda (Ben) Johnson and their children, Bohdan and Liam of Mt. Vernon, IN and Derek (Michelle) Hagen of Los Angeles, CA. Per his wishes there will be no services.
