Lorraine Finucan

LORRAINE MARY FINUCAN age 92, an eighty year resident of Richmond died Sunday, September 2, 2007 in Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Finucan was born May 8, 1915 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Leocadia (Faber) Ernst. She married Earl Finucan in Richmond on June 29, 1935. Mr. Finucan died in 1974. Lorraine graduated in 1933 from St. Mary's High School in New Baltimore and attended Port Huron Business School. She worked as the bookkeeper at J.C.Ernst Ford Dealership/ Farm Equipment, the family owned business from 1945 to 1988. She was a member and lecturer of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She belonged to the altar Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, National Council of Catholic Women and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and photography. She had a special place in her heart for golden retrievers especially her buddy, "Gentry". She is survived by her brother, Donald Ernst of Fort Gratiot, sisters, Marcella Karmon of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Mary Cassidy of Mount Clemens, sister-in-law, Vera Ernst of Richmond and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph Ernst, Dolores Ernst and Florence Burkhardt, sister-in-law, Lois Ernst and brothers-in-law, Theodore Karmon, Patrick Cassidy and Henry Burkhardt. A funeral Mass will be on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 10:30am in St. Augustine Church. Reverend Joseph Plawecki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Richmond. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 3 to 9pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and 10 to 10:30am Thursday in the church. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:30pm in the funeral home.
